Requirements

Orbit Lite runs on modern macOS systems and is designed for fast, reliable playback.

System requirements

• macOS 14 or later, on Apple Silicon. The Orbit Lite 1.3.2 beta also runs on Intel Macs (beta; Apple Spatial Audio isn't offered on Intel).
• A compatible audio output device.
• Optional: compatible AirPods or Beats headphones for head tracking (Binaural and Apple Spatial Audio).
• An internet connection to sign in and activate, and to refresh your licence from time to time. See Licensing.

On iPhone and iPad, Orbit Lite needs iOS 17 or later. It's a free download on the App Store. See Orbit Lite on iPhone & iPad.

File requirements

• ADM BWF files (.wav) with valid ADM metadata.
• IAMF / Eclipsa files (.iamf, or IAMF-wrapped .mp4 — including files that carry video).
• Files should be complete exports from your immersive authoring workflow.

Recommended setup

• High-quality headphones for binaural and Apple Spatial Audio monitoring.
• 7.1.4 speaker layout for full room playback.

Playback stays local to your machine. Network access is used for your licence and account, update checks and, if you allow it, anonymous usage data. Your audio files are never uploaded.
