Video View

Orbit Pro

The Video View requires Orbit Pro.

The Video View is where you build a picture reference to play alongside your ADM audio — importing clips, adding titles and graphics, and arranging them on a video track that stays locked to the same timeline as your audio.

Getting there

The icon rail on the far left switches between Orbit's view modes — Overview, Timeline View, Video View, and Monitor View. Click the video-camera icon to switch into this view.

Layout

  • Left sidebar — three tabs for what you can add to the project:
    • Video Clips — imported video files, each showing its duration, frame rate, resolution, and how many trimmed regions it's been split into. + Add Video to Project imports a new clip.
    • Aa Text — text titles you can drop onto the video track.
    • Graphics — image/graphic overlays.
    • A Programme panel above the list sets the project's frame rate, resolution, and aspect ratio (or leaves them on Auto to follow the imported footage).
  • Preview canvas — the centre of the window, showing the video frame at the current playhead position with on-canvas transform handles when a clip, title, or graphic is selected. Better Quality toggles higher-fidelity preview rendering; an Optimizing… badge appears while Orbit transcodes footage in the background for smooth scrubbing.
  • Right-hand inspector — appears when something is selected, with properties specific to what you clicked. For a text title: its text content, font, size, style, colour, alignment, wrap/outline/shadow/background options, start/end time and fade in/out, plus position and scale transforms.
  • Video track — beneath the preview, a dedicated timeline row for clips, titles, and graphics, sitting above the same waveform and zoom/snap toolbar used in the Timeline View. Trim, move, and layer video elements the same way you'd work with audio regions.
